how it works
From your first workout to the competition floor - here’s how Prime League runs
Prime League is designed to give you a clear pathway to test yourself. From the first online workout through to the in-person competition.
The structure combines accessibility with progression, giving you the chance to compete from anywhere before earning your place on the competition floor.
-
The Prime League online qualifier will consist of 4 workouts completed across a two-week window.
Athletes will:
complete the workouts in their own training environment
submit scores within the allocated timeframe
follow the movement standards and guidelines provided
Athletes will complete and submit workouts in stages:
Week 1
Complete Event 1 and Event 2 and submit scores before the weekly deadline.
Week 2
Complete Event 3 and Event 4 and submit scores before the final submission deadline.
This format gives athletes flexibility to complete workouts within the allocated window while still creating a structured competition environment.
These workouts are designed to test a broad range of fitness - strength, engine and work capacity.
They also determine who progresses to the next stage of competition.
-
Athletes will compete within their age group to ensure a fair and relevant test of fitness.
Our age divisions will be split into 10 year brackets:
30-39 years
40-49 years
50+ years
This structure allows athletes to compete against others in a similar stage of training and life.
Cut off dates for age will be your age at the due date of the last online workout.
-
Prime League offers two divisions so athletes can compete at the level that suits their training.
PRIME
The highest standard of competition at Prime League. Heavier loading, advanced movements and high intensity tests. Designed for experienced athletes ready to push the limits of their fitness.
FORGED
A serious test with more accessible movement standards. Moderate loading, strong conditioning and balanced workouts. Designed for athletes who want to challenge themselves and keep progressing.
See the divisions page for specific movement standards.
-
Following the online qualifier, top athletes in each division and age group will earn the opportunity to compete at our in-person event.
Final numbers and qualification details will be released alongside the workouts.
-
The in-person event will be held in Sydney and brings athletes together for a full day of competition.
Athletes can expect:
Multiple workouts across the day
A mix of strength, skill and conditioning
Live judging and scoring
A competitive but supportive environment
This is where preparation meets the test.
